7 Aug 2013 Aldigham

I had dug some fresh blow lug yesterday and although not much of a tide (HT 1241 8.71M), decide to head back to Aldingham. I arrived at 1130 and tide was nowhere near…..

so got set up and settled down and enjoyed the panoramic views over Morecambe bay……..blissful. As I sat there I realised I had forgotten something (as it was that quite)…ah yes Steve Magee wasn’t there. I keep telling him the decorating needs to be done ding the winter months! I decided to fish with two rods…..

……………….both with single 3/0 clipped down rigs on 150gm breakaways. One rod with the fresh blow lug, the other with salted lug/ salted lug/ fresh lug cocktail.

There was one other chap on the beach getting set up when I arrived. The tide touched just before 1200…..throughout the short session I only had one small knock on the fresh blow lug.The weather was once again lovely……………sunny, no wind, hot………….and the sea was very calm.
Once again a quite blanking session…..although an enjoyable one. The session was cut short by the receding tide and also the fact that there were rafts of weed…..

(worse that the west side of Walney) coming down from East to West that I couldn't avoid …………..as shown on the right hand rod.

Had a good craic the other guy who also blanked. In hindsight I probably should have chosen a better location on the medium tide.
