20 Aug 2013 Aldingham

Dug a bit of bait yesterday and decided to venture back to Aldingham to see if could have better luck than yesterday’s lure fishing session. The weather was overcast with a stiff South Westerly breeze and a choppy sea . I arrived @1020 …..

and the tide started to show and was fishable about 1035 (HT 1131 9.06M). ……..

I was quite surprised that I was the only one fishing. I noticed there was about 5 fishing along the Coast Road and a couple at Newbiggin. I decided to fish with just the one rod with single 3/0 clipped down rigs on 150gm breakaways.

There is not much to report on this session as I once again blanked…….. not even one touch. It was a relaxing day though with rod in hand laid back in my chair…….waiting for a rattle.

The sun actually came out and it began to warm up just after high water.

I lasted till 1230 then it was off to Earnsie Bay for my doggy walking duties. When I got to Earnsie Bay there was a tractor just recovering a boat that had been out…..it looked a bit choppy! I noticed that the tide line did not hold much weed…….perhaps I should have got out on the west side instead of Aldingham, although most reports lately from the west side indicate large amounts of weed.

Sorry about (yet again) lack of fishy interest in my report……one of these days I will back on the Silver (and flatty at a push) trail ..although time is running out.
